What is a baked highlighter?

A baked eyeshadow, blush, or highlighter, on the contrary, is literally a cream which is baked into a smooth, powdery solid by applying heat. Baked in the sun and inside ovens, these silky, velvety products shot to the forefront of beauty counters a few years ago, but few have actually figured out their benefits.

Baked makeup doesn't have a lot of chemicals and additives since it doesn't need binding like pressed makeup, making the concentration of actual pigment much higher due to the absence of filler ingredients. Hence, baked products are less chalky than pressed ones and tend to have concentrated colour payoff.
